For some time now, I’ve been encouraging people to check their public libraries for access to LinkedIn Learning. In fact, I even wrote a post about it.
But shame on me, because I wasn’t sharing another amazing resource simply because I didn’t realize it was available through many public library systems: access to the O’Reilly catalog.
It’s not exactly the same experience as a personal O’Reilly subscription or one provided through an employer or university. Depending on the library, there may be some limitations around access methods, features, or content availability.
Even so, it’s an incredible resource. O’Reilly offers access to thousands of books, videos, courses, and learning materials covering technology, data analytics, AI, programming, cloud computing, cybersecurity, project management, and much more. It’s one of the best places I know to stay current in a rapidly changing field.
If you’re looking to build your skills, keep up with new technology, or even access some of my own content, it’s worth checking whether your local library offers free access to O’Reilly Online Learning.

Know of another public library that offers access to O’Reilly Online Learning? Drop me a note and I’ll add it to the list.
I hope this helps a few more people discover a great (and often overlooked) way to access high-quality technology training for free!
