Remember to Refresh!
By using whole columns as your PivotTable reference, you will never mistakenly leave out new data from your report. But you do still need to refresh your data.
Let’s say that you just received the last quarter’s sales data. You append it to your sales source. The PivotTable will not pick up these changes until you refresh your PivotTable. This is a simple maneuver — just right-click anywhere inside your PivotTable and select “Refresh.” This is demonstrated below on our blank PivotTable.
Your data will now include the next quarter.
It is a good practice when working with a new PivotTable to check that it has been refreshed and is not missing any data.
