I will be speaking at Data Days CLE on Tuesday, April 7 at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH.
The topic of the panel is “Data Capacities and the Public/Private Partnership.” Description:
With the explosion of data tools and technologies, how do nonprofits keep up, and what can they glean from the private sector? This panel will explore the analytics adoption and implementation process: from making sense of open-source, to upskilling employees, to tailoring data to the needs of the public sector.
Panel description, Data Days Cleveland
In particular, I will be discussing the role of education in building data capacities. This comes from my varied experiences in developing curriculum and training programs for data analytics.
Last month, I presented a presentation to the Ohio Society for Technical Communication on building a “data academy.” The slides are presented below. I expect to build on these ideas for the panel with an emphasis on growing the potential of civic data through education.
Data Days Cleveland is the “region’s only conference focused on accessible data and civic technology for community impact.”
There’s a great schedule lined up on everything from counting tree canopies to inspiring arts students through exploratory data analysis.
