This presentation has concluded. Thanks again to Michael Olafusi & the UrBizEdge team for hosting. A recording follows and all materials are available at this GitHub repo.
I’m pleased to share that I’ll be presenting to the Lagos, Nigeria-based Microsoft Excel and Data Analysis Learning Community on Sunday, July 11th, 2021 at 4pm Lagos time (11am Eastern US time). The session will be online and free.

Description below:
If you’re familiar with Excel, you’ve got the best place to start learning analytics.
In this presentation, George Mount of Stringfest Analytics will demonstrate key statistical concepts from spreadsheets and shows users how to pivot existing knowledge into R and Python programming.
Attendees will pick up a framework for the analytics stack and see how to complement their existing Excel knowledge.
As you may guess from the title, the topic is adjacent to my book of the same name. That said, I will be sharing unique content not covered in the book. By the end of the presentation, I will have Excel users already coding in R and Python and seeing the possibilities for adding these tools to their analytics stack.
The repository for the meetup (under construction) is available here. A recording of the event will also be made available.
I’m so looking forward to this event and want to thank meetup host Microsoft MVP Michael Olafusi for the opportunity. As I’ve written about before, a digital book tour can feel lacking. But the hospitality of the global Excel community has really breathed life into it.
